The Course

Hole 16

Avoiding the large oak tree on the left and carrying the ridge in the fairway is a must here for those hoping to make another birdie, for the approach shot from 150 yards or more is complicated by a green which tapers to no more than six yards across at the back. Missing to the right places an intolerable strain on the short game of the average golfer . . . . better by far is to try to run the ball in from the left in the knowledge that anything pin-high offers an excellent birdie chance.
